Ultrasound Consultants International partners with Governmental agencies and multi-national organizations to expand the usage and access of diagnostic ultrasound examinations in low and middle-income countries. We provide intensive, short-term instruction in diagnostic ultrasonography, which utilizes sound waves to detect abnormalities in soft tissue within the human body. Using this technology, there can be significant reductions in maternal mortality, earlier detection of life-threatening diseases and better monitoring of chronic infections such as HIV/AIDS.
Our Mission
We have a 3-part mission for each country we serve:
1 Significantly reduce the incidences of maternal and infant mortality, as well as detect and monitor life-threatening medical afflictions.
2 Reduce hospitalizations due to chronic and acute diseases, which diminishes medical costs to the central government and ministries of health.
3 Provide economic growth by creating new jobs, which increases civic pride and builds a stronger, more self-sustaining healthcare framework.
Where We Work
We are committed to the strengthening of health systems and expansion of quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations worldwide. Of particular focus are the Sub-saharan countries on the continent of Africa. The highest per capita deaths from maternal mortality are found in this region. The low and middle income countries of the African continent is where we can make the greatest and most immediate impact.
Our Objective
