To provide intensive, short-term instruction in diagnostic
ultrasonography, which utilizes sound waves to detect abnormalities in
soft tissue within the human body. Using this technology, there can be significant reductions in maternal mortality, earlier detection of life-threatening diseases and better monitoring of chronic infections such as HIV/AIDS.
